Asking questions
Ask in plain English. Every answer cites what it read, and "I cannot tell from this" is a real answer.
What you can ask
- Which machines are unpatched on Northwind and why?
- Show me every backup that has never been restore-tested
- What changed on this server in the last week, and who changed it?
- Why is this site slow?
- What did you refuse last night, and why?
Every answer is grounded
Answers resolve to records. Where a figure appears, it clicks through to the rows behind it. Where Genie generated a query to answer you, the query is shown.
If he cannot ground an answer, he says so. He does not produce a plausible one — that is the failure this platform exists to prevent, and it is not permitted in the answer path either.
What he will not answer
- Whether a client is compliant — that is a legal conclusion
- Anything about another client than the one in scope
- A prediction he cannot validate
- A cause he cannot evidence, however likely
When he needs more
"I cannot determine that from what I have — collect X and ask me again" is a designed answer, not a failure. It is more useful than a confident guess and it tells you what to do next.
