A NinjaOne alternative
NinjaOne is fast, clean and well-liked. The differences are in depth and in what happens to your data.
First, what they do well
NinjaOne has the best-reviewed interface in this market and deploys quickly. Reviewers consistently rate onboarding and day-to-day usability highly, and that is not nothing — a tool your technicians like is a tool they use.
The number to model is not the quote. An MSP running it in production reports a three-dollar-per-endpoint quote becoming five to six dollars effective once backup and MDM are added, because both are separate lines. Documentation and warranty tracking are separate again. None of it is published, so the only way to learn your number is to ask for it.
Where we are different
Deeper endpoint tooling. Interactive filterable event log, terminal in both SYSTEM and logged-on-user context, Wake-on-LAN across subnets, chat with server-side retention, and session recordings stored centrally rather than on the technician's own workstation.
Plus three nobody ships: an on-demand speed test, ad-hoc ping and traceroute from the agent, and a desktop message so Genie can warn a user before touching their machine.
Reconciliation. Not a faster dashboard — a continuous comparison of what your tools claim against what is verifiably true.
A recording stored on the workstation of the person being audited is not audit evidence. Ours are central, immutable to their author, and access to one is itself recorded.
The three that apply to every comparison on this site
- Reconciliation. One data model means claimed state can be compared against verified state, continuously. A platform assembled from acquisitions structurally cannot do this — it is not effort, it is architecture.
- Your data stays yours. Self-hosted, and we receive ten fields and a signature. Published in full and readable before it is sent.
- AI is not metered. The model runs on your GPU. There is nothing for us to charge for, so nothing is gated.
And what we are not
They will onboard you faster and their interface is better than ours will be for a while. If speed to first value is your deciding factor, take that seriously.
The agent. A host that does not answer is unreachable, not zero latency; a disk that will not report SMART is unavailable, not ok. Forty-two declared verbs and what each refuses to fake.
There is no 24/7 line and no account manager. Support is email from the person who wrote the code, within published hours. Faster than most escalation paths and worse than a rota — and we would rather you knew which.
Thirty days, read-only. It changes nothing and no client is contacted.
